Since the weather was clearing up, David and I decided to walk from YHA Purple Cow to that famous Wanaka tree. Luckily, it was quite close!
While I was hiking Roy’s Peak, David was out on his own relaxing photo-adventure around Wanaka.
His first stop was for a view of Mt. Aspiring.
Continuing onwards, he went to Waterfall Creek. This beach was largely drivable and very secluded with stunning views of Lake Wanaka and surrounding mountains.
After he picked up a very exhausted Five Foot Traveler at the bottom of Roy’s Peak, it was nice for us to return to our room at YHA Purple Cow. With the most comfortable beds around, a fantastic “lodgey” feel, views of the lake and surrounding mountains, and a great movie room, YHA had everything we needed to cook up some food and cap off our day.
