So if you’ve seen any of my posts from New Zealand, you’d know how much I love helicopter flights. The thing is though, I’ve never experienced flying over such lush mountains and jagged coastlines. Let me just say, Maui is exquisite.
Thanks to Air Maui, I had the opportunity to fly over West Maui and Molokai. Our pilot, Captain Kirk (yes, for real!), was chock-full of knowledge and as witty as could be.
Flying at about 140 mph, we were able to take in the sweeping landscapes and even saw humpback whales breaching below us!
After taking in the views of Maui, we flew over to Molokai, one of Hawaii’s most untouched, pristine islands and home to the hula. Not only that, but it is home to the world’s largest sea cliffs! They are typically inaccessible, but thanks to Air Maui, we were able to view them with ease.
The Island is known for it’s vast quantity of waterfalls, and our pilot brought us as close to them as possible.
One of the things that makes Air Maui so unique is that they record your entire flight — both the inside of the helicopter, and the stunning views around us. The footage was absolutely ridiculous, but unfortunately, I couldn't get the video to convert properly to share with you 🙁
I couldn’t recommend joining Air Maui for their West Maui & Molokai flight enough! It’s definitely a must-do while visiting Maui, as there’s no better way to view an island than from above!
