From Parque Tayrona, we went back to El Rodadero and caught an overnight bus to Medellin with Brasilia. The bus company was fantastic – very roomy, good wifi, spotless. 5FT Tip: Bring a blanket and wear warm clothes, that bus is COLD!

Medellin is a big, bustling city with a number of quality places to eat – and I was quite happy about the abundance of empanada stands. Unfortunately, it absolutely downpoured on us, so rather than get soaked to the bone, we decided to have a much-needed relaxing day at our awesome hostel. For anyone going to Medellin, you MUST stay at Geo Hostel! It’s modern, exceptionally clean, well-priced, and includes a delicious breakfast of eggs with an arepa, cheese, and coffee/tea.

When the rain broke, we took the Metro Cable to Santo Domingo for a fabulous, albeit hazy, view of the city.
