The following morning we were up bright and early to a rainbow and took a gorgeous hike deep into San Cristobal where we saw red-footed boobies, marine iguanas, sea lions, and a baby boobie. The day was more perfect than I could’ve asked for and the flowers along the cliffside were vibrantly colored.
Carlos, one of our naturalists, was amazing and so informative. As we ended our hike, the sand was sparkling in a way I’d never seen. After lunch we were ready for our first deep-sea snorkel – the last time I snorkeled I was nineish, saw a sting ray, and swore that I would never snorkel again. Oops. Well, I’m glad I changed my mind. The first fish I saw was purple and orange, my two favorite colors! I squealed into my mask. Since the water was chilly and a bit cloudy, we headed to the beach – a beach with crystal clear waters, white sand, and a million sea lions. Running into the water on a beach like that felt amazing. As we left, we were blessed with one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen.
Those colors are just breathtaking!
