In a country steeped with history, it's only logical to stay at a place that embraces said history. Would you believe it if I said that the Corinthia Hotel at St. George's Bay has a 16th Century tower? Well, it does.
The Corinthia Hotel was founded by local a Maltese family who knew exactly what guests would want out of a hotel: a prime location, helpful staff, great views, and fantastic amenities.
We were in an extremely comfortable Executive Room with Sea View, although the sea view was quite slight if I do say so myself. The room was, nonetheless, more than we needed and we quickly made ourselves at home.
With a fresh fruit basket, chocolates, and a personalized letter, we were ready to make the most out of our stay at the Corinthia Hotel at St. George's Bay.
With the Executive Room came access to the Executive Lounge which serves fruit, snacks, and drinks most of the day through the evening.
They have a nice array of food options, and an even nicer view off the balcony!
The Corinthia Hotel at St. George's Bay is located in a busy district filled with bars, beaches, and restaurants. It is perched on a slight hill, so bear this in mind if you're using public transportation other than Bus Line 14, as you will have to walk up. There are many bus lines serving the area though, allowing easy access throughout Malta.
Before beginning your day, be sure to grab breakfast in either the Executive Lounge or Fra Martino restaurant. Who wouldn't love a breakfast that serves proper pancakes with real maple syrup and fresh cream? Needless to say, I was one very happy morning person when I caught eye of those!
The Hotel itself has its own private beach away from the noisy beachgoers a bit further down the road. If you're not a salt water person, fear not because there are five (yes, five) pools on the grounds of the Corinthia Hotel at St. George's Bay. They look out onto the water and offers plenty of options for those wanting sun or shade alike.
After a day of relaxing, or frantically running around the island trying to see everything like myself, it's worth checking out their spa center and gym as well. It made for the perfect nightcap to my busy day. On the premises, you can find seven restaurants and four bars if you don’t feel like walking down into town. There’s most definitely something for everyone!
If you’re looking for a hotel with more of a resort feel, the Corinthia at St. George’s Bay would be it. It’s has everything you need for a week of beach, sun, and relaxation. In fact, it’s easy to forget that there’s the whole of Malta to see!
