Germany

If you are one for enjoying the holiday season, Germany is a great place for you to travel to during the colder months of the year. In the lead up to Christmas, Germany and other Central European countries celebrate with the tradition of the historic Christmas markets.
This is a sight to see and an absolute must for anyone who loves to see the magic of Christmas in full swing. The adorably cute stalls will be selling a bunch of things including gingerbread, toys, sleigh bells and a range of different food. The Christmas Markets in Munich are outstanding, however, they are very popular with the tourists so it might be beneficial for you to seek out a smaller town for a more intimate experience.

It is absolutely gorgeous all year round, but particularly special in the colder months when you get to rug up and admire the scenic views. Make your way to Edinburgh or perhaps even base yourself there for the duration of your stay. This way you can see Edinburgh castle at ease and head to some of the best pubs in the country.
