In a country scattered with hotels, sometimes it’s nice to feel like you have a place to yourself; a home of some sorts where you can cook, lounge, and have your own space. We found this comfort at Bay Bridge Hong Kong. Having found ourselves in Hong Kong longer than planned, as there were some complications with our Chinese Visas, there was no better way to spend our last night in the country than at Bay Bridge.
The Accommodation.
The Deluxe 1 Bedroom apartment was clean, spacious and quite lovely. There was a double bed with flat screen TV in the bedroom, and the adjacent living room had another TV with a couch, coffee table, and raised table with bar stools.
On one side of the living room there was a large balcony with great night views, and on the opposite side there was a kitchen with a refrigerator, burner, and tea supplies. Next to the kitchen, there was a nice bathroom with toiletries.
The Facilities.
The main lobby of the Bay Bridge Hong Kong is clean, classy, and spacious. From the lobby, you can find their comfortable lounge with ample seating, and the entrance to their Health Center. “When you work out in our gymnasium, things could get hot and heavy,” the door read. In the need for a workout, I was pleased to find a few different cardio machines, free weights, yoga mats, clean towels, and plenty of mirrors. If getting sweaty isn't your thing, there's also a nice outdoor pool adjacent to the gym that provides a great view of the surrounding areas.
The Location.
With free shuttles to and from the metro station, and an airport express bus costing less than $3 USD, Bay Bridge is in the ideal location for those people staying both short-term for easy access to the airport, or long-term for those looking for apartment-style lodging.
The Restaurant.
As Bay Bridge Hong Kong is slightly isolated from the main shopping district, we were happy to discover that they had an in-house restaurant, Anchor's, with not only great prices, but great food. Their menu featured a variety of both Asian and Western dishes, so we decided to go for a bit of both — Nasi Goreng and blueberry cheesecake made for a perfectly filling and tasty dinner.
For anyone looking to stay in apartment-styled accommodation in Hong Kong, Bay Bridge is the place to be. The staff will be able to assist you with anything you should need, and you'll definitely find yourself comfortable in your new “home.”
